An Organization's True Report Card: Its Impact on Society - Odev.org.tr

It all started when I, Tahir Dinç, founder of Türk SEM, tried to understand my own son's academic progress. His report card grades didn't tell us much, so we spent months working with Türk SEM's software engineers and design team. We discovered that the games a student plays can show us where they struggle, what they understand well and what they don't, and, more importantly, which of the multiple intelligences they lean on while playing.

While our child plays a game on a phone, we can actually learn a great deal about their education. As part of our social responsibility, we made this available free of charge and offered it to both teachers and parents completely ad-free.

Why we built Ödev.org.tr

At Türk SEM, we have spoken the language of digital for years. We help brands become visible in search engines, reach the right audience and grow online. But we believe that measuring an organization's success only by the business it wins tells half the story. The true report card is written by what that organization leaves behind for the society it lives in.

That belief is how Odev.org.tr was born.

Ödev is a free, 100% ad-free digital learning platform aligned with Turkey's national elementary curriculum (Ministry of National Education, MEB) and designed for 1st through 4th grade students, their parents and teachers. For us, it is not a commercial product; it is a social responsibility project through which we give our knowledge, technical strength and effort directly back to society.

Why education, and why children?

In Turkey, not every child has equal access to quality education. Some students get support at home, while others can't even find a simple practice exercise. The digital world could close this gap, but it often does the opposite: much of the content aimed at children is full of ads, unsafe redirects and distractions.

We believed this could change. We felt that the time a child spends in front of a screen should lead them to learn, not to buy something. We built Odev.org.tr on that principle:

Ad-free and safe. There is not a single ad or distracting redirect on the platform. Children focus only on learning.
Completely free. We didn't want a family's budget to stand in the way of a child's chance to learn.
Aligned with the MEB curriculum. Every piece of content is based on the learning outcomes in the official curriculum, so it rests on a measurable foundation rather than guesswork.
Measuring learning outcomes, not just grades. By making visible the dozens of learning outcomes behind a single grade, we put real learning ahead of memorization.

A project born in the classroom

We didn't design Odev.org.tr at a desk. The platform's founder and content lead is an elementary school teacher with experience teaching grades 1 through 4: Tahir Dinç. Content is updated based on feedback from real classrooms, so every assignment, every game and every report card is shaped through a teacher's eyes and by children's real needs.

Türk SEM's role has been to put its technical strength, infrastructure and a sustainable structure behind this valuable vision for education. More than 809 educational games, over 262 MEB learning outcomes and 89 curriculum topics all come together in a consistent, reliable and accessible system.

Giving back is not optional for us

As a digital marketing company, we have two valuable resources: knowledge and technology. We weren't content to use them only for commercial purposes; we saw it as our responsibility to dedicate part of them directly to children's future.

odev.org.tr is a concrete expression of how Türk SEM sees its role in society:
